Fluid Mechanics Engineer job description

The Ideal Candidate:

Monitors the execution of works on site in terms of quantity, quality and compliance with deadlines.

In the context of the expansion of our team and the range of projects we are looking for an engineer specialized in fluid mechanics, passionate about renewable energy and sustainable technologies to take an active role in the development , installation of floating photovoltaic systems and their specific anchoring systems.

Main responsibilities:

  • Design and optimization of mooring and floating systems for floating photovoltaic parks.
  • Plan and organise specific work on site
  • Monitors the progress of site activities on a regular basis
  • Responsible for compliance with the execution technologies according to the regulations in force, the requirements of the client and the internal requirements imposed for the work in question
  • Maintains a safe and healthy working environment by setting and enforcing standards and procedures, in compliance with the regulations in force.
  • Prepares daily work reports and reports the actual situation on site.
  • Analyses and models fluid behaviour to ensure stability and durability of floating platforms.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure effective integration of mechanical systems into projects.
  • Monitoring the performance of existing systems and proposing continuous improvements.
  • Testing and evaluating prototypes, providing feedback and solutions for performance optimization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with specialization in Fluid Mechanics.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or Port and Marine Installations and Equipment (an advantage).
  • Minimum 5 years experience in this field
  • Driving licence : category B
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Relevant experience in mechanical systems design and analysis, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
  • Sound knowledge of computer use and basic software.
  • Solid knowledge in the use of fluid simulation software (e.g. ANSYS, Fluent, sesam Hydro, Finite Element Calculation).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Results orientation and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills, planning and organizational skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to work effectively in a demanding environment with many tight deadlines.
  • The position requires availability to work on various open sites in the country , with provision of accommodation and specific per diem.
