We are building
the largest FPV factory
in Europe
Building Europe’s first FPV factory marks a key step toward energy innovation, boosting local production, reducing supply chain risks and accelerating the transition to sustainable, water-efficient solar power.
The next generation of energy is built on water.
Strategically positioned along Bucharest’s main Ring Road, on a plot of 40,000 sqm, the factory offers exceptional logistic advantages. In order to reduce its CO2 footprint, the factory will be powered by a 2.6 MW PV park and backed by BESS, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable energy practices.
The factory will serve as an advanced production hub for FPV systems, leveraging the expertise of Sungrow FPV, the global leader with a portfolio of over 4 GW installed and 290 energy patents. The facility can reach an impressive annual production capacity of 600 MW.

How does Floating photovoltaic systems work ?
How do floating solar panels generate electricity?
Floating photovoltaic (FPV) systems generate electricity by using solar panels mounted on floating platforms placed on water bodies, such as lakes or reservoirs, capturing sunlight just like land-based systems but using water surfaces.
How do the solar panels stay on the water?
These systems use buoyant structures to support solar panels on water. The panels are positioned to maximize sun exposure, which increases energy output compared to fixed installations on land.
How is electricity from floating systems delivered to the grid?
Electricity generated on the water is transferred via underwater or floating cables to the shore, where it connects to inverters and is then fed into the electrical grid, just like traditional solar systems.
Why are floating solar panels more efficient?
The surrounding water helps cool the panels naturally, which improves their performance and lifespan. Cooler panels are more efficient, so FPV systems can produce more energy than similar land-based setups in the same conditions.
What are the environmental benefits of floating solar?
Floating solar helps conserve land and reduces water evaporation from reservoirs. By covering parts of the water surface, it limits sun exposure, helping to retain water in hot climates while producing clean energy.
