WALDEVAR Energy and GEN-I Sonce Partnership with New HV Substation EPC Agreement

The agreement marks the kick-off in the long-standing collaboration between the two companies and further strengthens WALDEVAR Energy as a trusted EPC partner for high-voltage and grid infrastructure projects.

Munich, Germany – June 25, 2026
– WALDEVAR Energy today announced the signing of a new full EPC agreement with GEN-I Sonce for the delivery of the Gheorgheni 110 kV, 63 MVA substation, marking the partnership between the two companies.

Under the agreement, WALDEVAR Energy will deliver the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works for the new 110 kV, 63 MVA substation, together with the associated Transmission System Operator (TSO) grid connection works required to integrate the client’s energy assets into the transmission network.

As investments in power generation continue to accelerate across Europe, reliable grid infrastructure has become a critical enabler of the energy transition. High-voltage substations and transmission grid connections play a fundamental role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable integration of new storage capacity into the grid.

This project further strengthens WALDEVAR Energy’s capabilities in delivering complex high-voltage infrastructure, complementing its integrated EPC services across power generation, transmission and distribution.

“This agreement represents a key step in our partnership with GEN-I Sonce and reflects the confidence built through successful proven track record. Delivering critical grid infrastructure is essential to accelerating Europe’s energy transition, and we are proud to contribute our engineering expertise and execution capabilities along with testing and commissioning experience to projects that strengthen the resilience and reliability of the transmission network.”, said Cristian Dragomir, CEO, WALDEVAR Energy

Our first collaboration with WALDEVAR Energy reflects a shared commitment to delivering high-quality energy infrastructure. We are pleased to build on our partnership through this new substation project and look forward to successful delivery together.”, said Gregor Hudohmet, CEO, GEN-I Sonce.

The agreement was signed during Intersolar Europe 2026, where WALDEVAR Energy presented its integrated energy ecosystem, showcasing its capabilities across utility-scale EPC, floating PV, grid infrastructure, SCADA, robotics and operation & maintenance services.
