Contract signed for the Nufărul Project, the largest photovoltaic floating system installed on a hydroelectric dam in Europe

Following an open tender process, Hidroelectrica has awarded WALDEVAR Energy the contract for the Nufărul Project – a pioneering renewable energy initiative that will become the largest floating photovoltaic park ever deployed on a hydroelectric dam in Europe. The project will be implemented on the Ipotești Dam, located on the Olt River, one of Romania’s key hydropower corridors.

WALDEVAR Energy marks a defining moment in its journey as an integrator of complex renewable energy solutions.

This contract, valued at 39,250,000 RON (excluding VAT), reaffirms our role as a reliable partner for delivering EPC solutions – from technical concept and design to procurement, construction, commissioning, and integration into the national grid.

Implementation timeline: 14 months
• 4 months – technical design
• 10 months – construction and commissioning

WALDEVAR Energy will deliver a full turnkey execution, including:
• Engineering and detailed design
• Procurement of high-efficiency equipment
• Installation adapted to aquatic conditions:
 ◦ Bifacial PV modules with high humidity resistance
 ◦ Modular floating structures made of HDPE or other innovative sustainable materials
 ◦ Adaptive anchoring systems to respond to water level fluctuations
 ◦ Optimized electrical configuration
 ◦ 100 kW inverters and low-loss cabling system
 ◦ Integration with the national transmission grid
 ◦ Automation and advanced real-time monitoring

With an installed capacity of 10 MW and an estimated annual output of 13.4 GWh, the system will play a key role in:
• Increasing Romania’s renewable energy production

Strategische Allianz für die Energiezukunft Rumäniens

Bukarest, Mai 2025

Zwei Unternehmen mit strategischer Bedeutung für das rumänische Energie-Ökosystem, WALDEVAR Energy und Prime Batteries, beteiligen sich an der Entwicklung des "Da Vinci New Project", einem groß angelegten Photovoltaik-Park in Nanov, Kreis Teleorman, der Alive Capital gehört, und bilden eine strategische Allianz. Der Solarpark mit einer Fläche von 247.000 Quadratmetern wird eine installierte Gesamtkapazität von 26,002 MWp haben, von denen 23 MWp durch den Nationalen Plan für Wiederaufbau und Widerstandsfähigkeit Rumäniens (PNRR), Komponente C6: Energie, finanziert werden, während die restlichen 3 MWp aus Eigenmitteln des Entwicklers finanziert werden. Das System wird 44.448 Photovoltaikmodule umfassen, die von 78 Wechselrichtern unterstützt werden.

Ein herausragendes Merkmal des Projekts ist die Integration eines Batteriespeichersystems (BESS) mit einer installierten Leistung von 5 MW und einer Gesamtspeicherkapazität von 10 MWh, das von Prime Batteries geliefert wird. Diese Komponente erhöht die betriebliche Flexibilität und die Fähigkeit zum Netzausgleich und trägt zur Stabilität der Energieversorgung bei.

Nach technischen Schätzungen wird das "Da Vinci New Project" jährlich etwa 35.022 MWh erzeugen - das entspricht dem Verbrauch von rund 14.590 Haushalten. Das Projekt wird die CO₂-Emissionen um 88.310 Tonnen pro Jahr reduzieren, mit einem geschätzten Primärenergieproduktionsäquivalent von 3.057,82 toe (Tonnen Öläquivalent). Diese Partnerschaft spiegelt einen pragmatischen Ansatz für die Entwicklung moderner Energieinfrastrukturen wider, indem sie das Fachwissen von WALDEVAR Energy bei der Ausführung und Entwicklung, die Fähigkeiten von Alive Capital beim Asset Management und die fortschrittliche Speichertechnologie von Prime Batteries kombiniert.

WALDEVAR exceeds 1.5 GW of installed capacity and unveils strategic investments to shape the future of green energy

Bucharest, Romania, MAY 2nd , 2025

In an industry where innovation and efficiency are key, WALDEVAR strengthens its position as a Romanian leader by surpassing the impressive milestone of 1.5 GW of installed capacity across its photovoltaic project portfolio.
